The organization holds auditions as they are needed to find new singers to be trained and sent out to work. Previously, the auditions were held in person in the organization’s home city of Atlanta, GA but most recently, it has begun to take advantage of technological and social media avenues to find singers who must endure an interview and audition process to become official members. Future auditions will be held in a similar format in order to maximize geographical resources for the organization. BHS sponsors quarterly workshops, seminars and retreats that are designed to train and teach singers what it takes to become successful professional background vocalists. While members are required to attend these events, some are open to the public for a nominal registration and participation fee.
